What Is the Nissan LEAF?
When the LEAF was first released in 2010, it made history as the first modern mass-market electric vehicle. There were other all-electric vehicles before the LEAF (in fact, Nissan developed the all-electric TAMA way back in 1947), but bringing a zero-emissions powertrain to the masses on a large scale was a game-changer. For even better stats, you can upgrade to the larger-capacity 60 kWh battery, which powers a more capable motor that can provide 214 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. In addition to more thrilling joyrides, this powertrain also has an extended range of 363 km, so you can take longer road trips without worrying about running out of charge.
